Support

Last updated 13 October 2026

Movie Grip is made by one person, so support is an email address rather than a help desk. That also means a real person reads what you send.

Getting help

Write to support@moviegrip.ca. Expect a reply within a few days.

If something is broken, these four things turn a bug report into a fix, and are worth the extra minute:

  • what you were doing when it went wrong;
  • what you expected instead;
  • the app version, from Profile then About;
  • your device and iOS version.

A screenshot is usually worth more than a description. Please do not send your password — it is never needed, and nobody will ever ask you for it.

Deleting your account

You can do this yourself, in the app: open Profile, scroll to the bottom and choose Delete account. You confirm with your password.

It is immediate and permanent. Your profile goes, and so does every stub, collection item, loan, watchlist entry and list attached to it. There is no grace period and no way to undo it afterwards, so if you want to keep your records, ask for a copy before you delete.

Your data

You can ask for a complete copy of everything stored against your account, or ask for it to be deleted if you would rather not do it in the app. Either request goes to privacy@moviegrip.ca and is answered within 30 days. The privacy policy sets out what is held and for how long.

If the app cannot reach the server

Content screens showing a network error usually means the app cannot reach the API rather than anything being wrong with your account. You can check whether the API is up at api.moviegrip.ca. If it is up and the app still will not load, signing out and back in refreshes an expired session.

Feature requests

Send them to the support address. Being told which part of your own collection the app makes awkward is genuinely the most useful mail to get.
